Enjoy concerts, theatrical performances, lectures, exhibitions, pilgrim wanderings and excursions. The celebration of the people has found its expression in a historical market where the mood and commotion of medieval fairs is recreated, with sales of the work of artisans, demonstrations of old handicraft techniques, refreshments and entertainment. From 28 July to 5 August.

Complete program in English

This church and culture festival is based upon St Olav's Day and Nidaros Cathedral, taking place at the end of July and lasting into the first week of August.

St Olav's day marks the death of Saint Olav at the Battle of Stiklestad. Since medieval times this has been an important celebration, both as a tradition within the church and for the people.

Nidaros Cathedral is the religious focus during the celebration. Now pilgrims are returning to Nidaros, some walking the Pilgrim Path, some by modern means of transport. During the last days of July there are small and larger services in a number of the city churches. The major event is "Olavsvaka" - Olav's Wake in the Cathedral, during the night between 28 and 29 July.
