You can enjoy fishing, riding, swimming, walks, skiing, skating and lots more...
Fishing
The Nidelva river is one of Norway's best salmon and trout rivers, famous far beyond the country's borders because of its unusually large salmon. The record for salmon ' so far ' is 31.8 kg (70 lb). Most fishing locations are open to the public, so come and try your luck.

Riding
There are a number of riding centres on the outskirts of the city. Bymarka and other areas in the surrounding countryside are good places to go riding.

Swimming
There are many good places to swim, both along the Trondheim fjord, and in fresh-water lakes.

Trondheim Pirbad provides the city with a 13,700 m2 "waterland" for families, and for sports and health purposes.

Trotting
Trøndelag is a centre for trotting, and one of the best tracks in Norway is at Leangen. Racing takes place every Monday at 6 pm.
