Trondheim is a major sports city and we participate in various sporting activities in great numbers, indeed every third citizen is a member of a sports club. The city has excellent facilities and arenas for all interests and ambitions, from demanding sailing on the Trondheim fjord to winning championships in our special and quite different version of horseshoes (skotthyll).

Football, skiing and handball are especially popular sports with top-line facilities and many exciting tournaments and events.

For the tourist, salmon fishing could be a special sporting treat, or perhaps golfing under natural light late into the evening... It's up to you.
