Art in Ferista Kindergarten

'Skogens dyrehage'. Artist: Gerald Siler 2009/2010. Art consultants: Helga Bøe & Ann Lundstrøm.
The only wild animal in the forest where Ferista kindergarten is situated belongs to the kindergarten itself. The animal, carved out of stone by Gerald Siler, does not reveal any details or body parts, and seems to be hiding in the stone. Gerald Siler, originally from the USA, has lived and worked in Støren for many years, and has had years of experience in dealing with the challenges of working with the local granite. The large stone animal and the remainder of the stone sculptures in Ferista kindergarten have a unique combination of rough natural surfaces and polished areas. In addition, the public art consists of a totem pole, which is fitting for a kindergarten where the departments are named after indigenous tribes on the American continent
