Art - A Tribute to the Ash Lad

Jan Eirik Evjen, 1993
Two abstract sculptures made from wood, or rather ancient wood from a former dock, have been placed at the ISAK culture centre. The centre arranges many activities aimed at young people from many cultures. Jan Eirik Evjen has used materials that in themselves tell a story. He found them by fortuitous chance, as a Golden Boy would, and he interprets and tells the story in his own way. Evjen studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim. He has made temporary sculptures (Demon, approximately 1980) and installations, a construction playground in wood for Kolstad School, a sculpture park at Stavne and a steel sculpture with a peep hole at the entrance to Vikåsen School (1999).
