Art - Soft Lines
Artist: Kristian Kvakland (1981).
This abstract polished steel sculpture stands more than eight metres tall. The artist called the sculpture Mjuke linjer (Soft Lines) to express the meeting of technology and natural elements. His works usually feature clean and strictly simplified forms. The originality lies in the interplay between the expressive content and the monumental, often strongly exaggerated, forms. The artist often uses socially relevant issues as underpinnings for his works, often with a humorous approach.
