Art - Stone Memorial to Anders Buen

Artist: Alessandro Santi (1938).

Anders Buen (1864–1933) was a President of Stortinget (the Norwegian Parliament) and editor of the newspaper Ny Tid (New Era). He stopped the plans to build large tenement buildings in the city district around Lademoen Park and Buran. Santi made a portrait medallion for the stone memorial. He was born in Trondheim, but his father was an Italian immigrant. He was a stone mason at Nidaros Cathedral Restoration Workshop from 1910 to 1948.
