'Rubiks Kurve'. Artist: Michael Johansson 2010. Art consultant: Anne-Helga Henning.
The long curved wall named ‘Rubiks Kurve’ (‘Rubik’s curve’) is anchored to two roads, Strandveien and Nordtvedts gate, and is a friendly indication of the transition between domestic housing and industrial premises. Within a steel framework, the wall allows room for various everyday objects in areas forming a quadratic pattern of 1 x 1 m. In combination, the consistent quadratic pattern and the sharp colours use artistic means to associate clearly with Rubik’s cube and other similar intellectual games.
