Art - The Steles
Artist: Bente Stokke (1984).
At the entrance to the Directorate for Nature Management, we find a group of sculptures consisting of nine steles, or columns, made from shale slates with elements of steel and glass. They stand almost five metres tall. This multimedia artist won an open competition with her programme: "The decoration aims to mark a location in the landscape and make this a spatial event in dialogue with the existing buildings". A wall decoration in shale inside the building creates a uniform expression with the Steles outside.
