Art - Three Bronze Sculptures
Artist: Stein Rønning (1999).
These sculptures, located at the municipal water treatment plant at Vikelvdalen, have no name, but the intention is to focus attention on the road, the water and the landscape. On an axis from the Vikelva (a river) and up to the large building, there is a large accurately shaped bronze cube. It marks the scope and importance of the plant for the whole municipality. Two smaller, approximately cube-shaped objects are placed on columns at the entrance to the plant. Rønning is known for his work at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, and previously taught at the university in his native Trondheim. As a visual artist, his works are often characterized by minimalist expressions in different materials.
