RAKE Art Showroom

RAKE was established at Elgeseter gate 30b as an architectural experiment and an experimental lab for presentation of art. The gallery was built and run by art and architecture students, and the site became a convincing demonstration of the possibilities in architecture and the power of art. The little box made from reclaimed windows and upcycled wood functioned as an exhibition space for a wide range of techniques and styles, by artists from many different countries. RAKE became a place well worth a visit. In 2014, RAKE moved from Elgeseter gate to Brattørkaia, where the showroom has found its place amongst a number of public artworks along this open, long-stretched front towards the fjord. In its current location, RAKE continues with the original concept, not a square metre more, not a square metre less. Here the public can still experience art in a rigid, concentrated form.
