Art in Majorstuen Kindergarten
'Energivegg'. Artist: Trude Westby Nordmark 2006. Art consultant: Wibeke Krohn.
While many similar institutions have a wall designed for ball games, the corresponding wall in Majorstuen kindergarten does not look like any other wall: its bright pictures change colour continually and the wall shines long after the children have left for the day. Trude Westby Nordmark’s construction consists of a solid aluminium frame around a ‘flat screen’ of thick, strong plexi glass. A permanent electricity supply power image of abstract pattern, programmed by the artist to appear in countless colour variations and combinations, and with a ‘planet’ as the main element. The wall measures approximately 2 x 3 m, and has become a landmark at Persaunet.
