Art in Okstadvegen Kindergarten

Artists: Jan de Gier & Vigdis Haugtrø 2009. Art consultants: Anette Lund & Pål Bøyesen.
The work of art at Okstadvegen kindergarten is meant to be explored and made use of in a physical way. Three sturdy, hollowed tree trunks, slightly at an angle to each cardinal point, have each been placed onto a steel chassis. At a distance the three hollowed trunks resemble astronomical telescopes, and they all offer an interesting sight, when looking from the hole in each tree trunk. The trunks may also be used as tunnels for the children to crawl in, and the sturdy tree trunks provide the children with opportunities for climbing and sitting.
